Sebern Fisher, M.A., BCN  is the author of the book, Neurofeedback in the Treatment of Developmental Trauma: Calming the Fear-Driven Brain published by Norton in April 2014. She has been integrating Neurofeedback with psychotherapy for the the past seventeen years in working with survivors of devastating early childhood abuse and neglect. Before Neurofeedback, Sebern was the clinical director of a residential program for severely disturbed adolescents. During that time, she introduced both attachment theory to help clinicians better understand their patients, and DBT in an attempt to better treat them. It was not until she found Neurofeedback that she discovered a way to quiet the limbic terror and shame that so overwhelms traumatized children. She has published widely in the field of Neurofeedback. She trains nationally and internationally on the primacy of fear in psychiatric disorders and on the integration of Neurofeedback and psychotherapy to address that fear. She is in private practice in Northampton and consults with Neurofeedback practitioners who work with developmental trauma.
